In this day and age of Corporate America, Executives continue to determine the best ways to run their organizations in order to invoke participation, motivation and overall increased productivity from their employees and volunteers. Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity is no different.
The elections of Convention 2002, earmarked the beginning of a new government format that has already had a huge positive effect on participation, motivation and productivity. Alpha Delta Gamma now has close to 30 Officers, Directors and Chairmen to head-up the normal- and special operations of this National Fraternity.
The new National Government has two active bodies: The National Executive Council and the National Board of Directors.
The National Board of Directors (the "Board") is the appointed body of the National Government. All Officers of the Executive Council (aside from the President, Executive Vice President and Moderator) have a National Department that they control. Each Department is responsible for different aspects of the Fraternity - internal, external, financial, and even the National Convention. The focus of the Departments remains fixed on all aspects of Active membership and overall Chapter protocol and management.
The National Executive Council (the "Council") is the elected body of the National Government. It consists of eight officers - five of who are voted in every other year at the National Convention, an annually elected Student Representative, a previously elected Past National President, and a President-appointed Moderator.
As always, the National President presides over all aspects of the Fraternity. Just as the Vice Presidents, Student Representative and Past National President are directly responsible for the work of their department members, the Executive Vice President is directly responsible for the work of those Officers. And with Brother Smulders as an example, we all know what the Moderator is responsible for.
