ADG Web Site Enhances Expansion Interest
By JAMES SMITH
National Vice President, External Affairs
Since the current National Council took office in 2002, there have been many new ideas introduced, particularly with regard to our national expansion plan. My goal has been to take this fraternity to places it has never been before. Alpha Delta Gamma may not be the largest fraternity or the wealthiest, but the beliefs we stand for and our brotherhood are truly priceless.
The future is now, as far as technology is concerned. During my candidacy in Spring 1999, very few people had cell phones; now everyone has them. That got me thinking that we must attack expansion in a completely new way: online. In the old days news was passed of ADG by word of mouth but with the advent of the Internet, one can reach untold thousands of people, as our site visits show.
Many late nights were spent with John Koehler talking about ideas, what should and shouldn't be included on the web site, etc.

Once content and format were decided, it needed to be written. Derrick Cabrera and I pulled together the content and John masterfully put it on the net.
In conclusion, the national web page and the expansion section have added greatly to our efforts. Since this year's convention in New Orleans we have already been contacted by and/or reached out to seven schools. This is an excellent opportunity because we have the chance now to expand where we want to, but also groups seeking national affiliation can get a glimpse of what we stand for. Therefore, we will be attracting quality groups that truly want to be Alphadelts.
