Beta Chapter Celebrates 75 years of Tradition at St. Louis University

On Sept. 20-22, 2002, Beta Chapter actives and alumni from all around the country gathered to reminisce about the traditions and brotherhood that have brought the chapter to where it is today. After months of planning led by event chairman Bryan Lind, all the hard work paid off as Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity's 2nd oldest chapter celebrated its 75th Anniversary in grand style.

The Beta tradition of J&A's Pub and Grill was the first event on Friday for a happy hour celebration before heading down to Busch Stadium. Seventy-five Alphadelts, family and friends attended the Cardinals game that night, as well as a good contingency for the post-game party back at J&A's.

An early start on Saturday was necessary for the chapter's annual alumni golf tournament at Forest Park. Celebration planners were lucky to get to the course before the 18-hole course began renovations. The participants split into teams of four for some friendly competition and prizes.

After a restful afternoon, the celebration moved to a formal banquet facility near the St. Louis University campus.

This event had the most attendance of Beta alumni, actives and even alumni of Xi Chapter, including Past National President Wayne Palmer-Ball. A small reception started the evening where everyone had a chance to gaze over pictures, plaques, awards and other Beta Chapter paraphernalia from its storied past. Past National President and Beta alum Frank Gamma quadrupled the exhibit size with his own personal collection, which piqued many of the attendees' interest and curiosity.

Following dinner, the weekend's golf tournament awards were presented and many photos were taken to preserve the moment for years to come. And finally, after the dancing and music ceased, actives and alums alike gathered around for a few renditions of our fraternity songs. A good time was, most definitely, had by all. Here's to the next 75 years!
