Spring Conference Returns to Northern Kentucky

For the first time in ten years, Alpha Delta Gamma returned to the campus of Thomas More College for its annual Spring Conference. Chapters from across the country came into town for this weekend event, including our two newest colonies at Philadelphia University and Chestnut Hill College. Many alumni were present Friday as actives and alumni arrived throughout the day and evening.

Saturday was marked by a day of meetings and seminars. National Vice President of External Affairs, James Smith, gave a presentation to the actives on "Managing Your Social Risks." In this day and age, actives are faced with increasingly difficult challenges that, even just a few years ago, were commonplace at fraternity functions. By learning to manage their social risks, actives can avoid such pitfalls in the future.

Another excellent seminar was given by Bill Phelan, National Vice President of Internal Affairs. Bill's presentation on "Crisis Management" reinforced Jim's

seminar, providing further focus on helping actives overcome problems that could arise, even at a moment's notice and covering the necessary skills to help prevent potential crisis situations.

Afternoon meetings consisted of a general discussion on national insurance hosted by Mark Niemeyer, Vice President of Finance, and Derrick Cabrera, Executive Vice President. This was followed by individual chapter meetings with the National Council. Spring Conference provided a great insight into next year's convention, which will be hosted by Rho Chapter and alumni in Cincinnati.
